The Church of England website provides useful information on funerals and burials, and states that everyone is entitled to either a burial service (funeral) or to have their ashes buried in their local parish churchyard by their local parish priest regardless of whether they attended church or not.
The Churchyard at St Leonard's is available to anyone who:
has lived in the parish of Turners Hill until death
has lived for a large part of his or her life here, though elsewhere in latter years
has been a habitual worshipper at St Leonard's and is on the electoral roll, although not a resident in the parish
has an existing family grave that is not full
During the Vacancy at St Leonard's any enquiry about funerals at the church or burials in the churchyard should be addressed to the churchwardens.
St Leonard's has guidelines for gravestones and memorials which can be read here.
